An eyebrow transplant is a specialised FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) procedure that moves individual hair follicles from your scalp to your eyebrow area. It is one of the most technically demanding transplant procedures because of the precision required.

Single-hair follicular units are extracted from the back of your scalp using a micro-punch tool. Only single-hair grafts are used for eyebrows, multi-hair grafts would look unnatural in this area. Eyebrow hair grows in a distinctive flat angle, almost parallel to the skin, and the direction changes across different parts of the brow. The inner portion grows upward, the middle section angles outward, and the tail curves downward. Your surgeon must replicate these patterns precisely for a natural result.

A typical eyebrow transplant requires between 100 and 400 grafts per eyebrow, depending on how much enhancement is needed. Creating full eyebrows from scratch may require up to 400 grafts per side, while filling sparse areas may need as few as 50-150.

Because the transplanted hair comes from your scalp, it will grow longer than natural eyebrow hair. You will need to trim your eyebrows regularly, typically every 1-2 weeks, to maintain the desired length and shape.

Before your procedure

During your free consultation, online or at a UK consultation day, our team will discuss your goals, assess your current eyebrow shape and density, and recommend a graft count. Close-up photos from multiple angles help your surgeon plan the design. You receive a clear, all-inclusive price.

On the day

You are collected from your 5-star hotel and driven to the hospital. Your personal translator is with you throughout. Your surgeon begins by drawing the eyebrow design directly onto your skin, this is a collaborative process. You agree on the shape, arch position, thickness, and overall look before any work begins.

Local anaesthesia numbs the donor area on the back of your scalp and the eyebrow region. You are awake and comfortable. Your surgeon extracts single-hair grafts and implants them one by one, carefully matching the angle and direction of natural eyebrow hair. The procedure typically takes 2-4 hours.

After the procedure

You receive specific aftercare instructions for the eyebrow area, along with all necessary medications. The area may appear red and slightly swollen. A follow-up check is scheduled for the next morning.

Back home

Your 12 months of aftercare begins. Our team will guide you through the growth process and advise on trimming and shaping as your new eyebrow hairs grow in.

Eyebrow transplant recovery is generally quick, though the visible location means you may want to plan your social engagements accordingly.

Days 1-3: Redness and mild swelling around the eyebrows. Tiny scabs form at each implantation site. The donor area on the back of your head will have minor tenderness. Prescribed medication manages discomfort.

Days 4-7: Swelling resolves. Scabs begin to loosen and fall away. Do not pick at them. The eyebrow area may look slightly pink.

Days 7-14: Most scabs have fallen off. Redness fades significantly. Most patients feel comfortable in social settings by day 10. Light makeup can usually be applied around (but not on) the transplanted area after 7-10 days.

Weeks 2-4: Transplanted hairs shed. This is entirely normal, the follicles are settling in. Your eyebrows will look similar to before the transplant temporarily.

Months 3-6: New growth begins. Fine hairs emerge and gradually thicken.

Months 6-12: Full growth is established. You will need to begin regular trimming as the transplanted hairs grow longer than natural eyebrow hair.

During recovery, avoid:

• Touching or rubbing the eyebrow area for 2 weeks
• Applying makeup directly on the transplanted area for 2 weeks
• Direct sunlight on the face for 2 weeks
• Swimming for 3 weeks
• Strenuous exercise for 1 week

Eyebrow transplants are safe procedures, but the delicate nature of the area means understanding the specific considerations is important.

Common and temporary side effects:

• Redness and mild swelling around the eyebrows (1-2 weeks)
• Tiny scabs at implantation sites (fall off within 7-10 days)

Less common risks:
