Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about your treatment journey with The Health Store Turkey.
About Our Service
Yes. Turkey is one of the world's leading destinations for medical tourism, with over 1 million international patients visiting each year. Our partner hospitals are government-licensed and hold JCI accreditation, the gold standard in international healthcare. All surgeons are board-certified with extensive experience in their specialties.
Your package covers: surgery and surgeon fees, private hospital room, all pre-operative tests and medications, 5-star hotel accommodation, VIP airport transfers, a personal translator, post-operative medications, compression garments (where applicable), and 12 months of follow-up aftercare. The only things not included are your flights and travel insurance.
Most patients save between 50% and 70% compared to equivalent UK private healthcare prices. For example, a gastric sleeve that costs £8,000-£12,000 in the UK starts from £3,500 with us. Dental veneers that cost £500-£1,000 per tooth in the UK start from just £130 per tooth in Turkey.
UK passport holders do not need a visa for visits of up to 90 days. You simply need a valid passport. For citizens of other countries, we can advise on visa requirements when you get in touch.
Not at all. Every patient is assigned a personal translator who accompanies you throughout your stay, from the airport to the hospital and hotel. Many of our medical staff also speak excellent English. You will never feel lost or unable to communicate.
Before Your Treatment
Start with a free consultation, either at one of our UK events, by phone, or via WhatsApp. Our patient coordinators will discuss your goals, review your medical history, and recommend the most suitable options. We also have a quick online quiz that can point you in the right direction.
All pre-operative tests are carried out at the hospital in Turkey as part of your package. These typically include blood tests, ECG, chest X-ray, and any procedure-specific assessments. We may also ask you to complete some tests with your GP before travelling, depending on the procedure.
Absolutely. We hold regular consultation days across the UK and Ireland, in Belfast, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Manchester, Livingston, and Letterkenny. These are completely free and no-obligation. Just come and have a chat with us.
During Your Stay
The length of stay varies by procedure. Weight loss surgery typically requires 5-7 days, dental treatments 5-10 days (depending on the work), cosmetic surgery 5-10 days, and hair transplants 3-4 days. Your patient coordinator will confirm the exact timeline for your specific treatment plan.
We partner with 5-star hotels close to the hospital. Rooms are private, comfortable, and fully equipped. Many patients say the hotel stay feels like a holiday once the initial recovery period is over.
After Your Treatment
Every patient receives 12 months of follow-up support. This includes regular check-ins with your patient coordinator, access to our medical team for any questions or concerns, and guidance on diet, exercise, and recovery. You can reach us 24/7 by phone, email, or WhatsApp.
Complications are rare, but we take them seriously. Contact our team immediately, we are available 24/7. Depending on the situation, we may arrange a remote consultation with your surgeon, advise you to visit your GP, or in exceptional cases, arrange a return visit to Turkey at no additional surgical cost.
We can discuss flexible payment options during your consultation. Speak to your patient coordinator about what is available for your specific procedure. We want to make sure the financial side is manageable and transparent.
Of course. Many patients bring a partner, family member, or friend. Your companion can stay in the hotel room with you (included in the package) and is welcome to accompany you to the hospital. Having a familiar face alongside you can make the whole experience more comfortable.
