What Is All-on-4?

All-on-4 is a revolutionary dental treatment that replaces an entire arch of teeth (upper, lower, or both) using just four strategically placed dental implants. Rather than placing one implant per missing tooth, which would be costly and require significant bone density, the All-on-4 technique uses four implants positioned at precise angles to maximise contact with available bone and provide a secure foundation for a full set of fixed teeth.

Here is how it works. Two implants are placed vertically at the front of the jaw, where bone density is naturally highest. Two more are placed at the back, angled at up to 45 degrees. Once the implants are placed, a temporary set of fixed teeth (a provisional prosthesis) is attached on the same day. You leave the clinic with a complete, functional smile. What Happens During Your Treatment?

All-on-4 treatment follows a carefully planned journey, with your personal patient coordinator managing every detail.

Before You Travel

You share dental X-rays, photos, and your medical history with your dentist. A preliminary treatment plan is created, including a detailed cost breakdown. Stage 1, Implant Placement and Same-Day Teeth (Trip 1)

Day 1, Assessment and planning: At the clinic, your dentist carries out a thorough examination and 3D CBCT scan. The precise position of each implant is planned using digital guided surgery software. If any remaining teeth need to be extracted, this is discussed and scheduled.

Day 2, The procedure: The treatment is carried out under local anaesthesia with sedation, so you are relaxed and comfortable throughout. Recovery and Aftercare

Recovery from All-on-4 is more manageable than most people expect, especially considering the scale of the transformation. Here is what to anticipate at each stage.

The first 24 to 48 hours: Swelling, bruising, and discomfort are normal and expected. Your dentist prescribes pain relief, anti-inflammatory medication, and antibiotics. Applying ice packs and keeping your head elevated helps manage swelling. Most patients describe the discomfort as moderate, less painful than they anticipated.

The first 1 to 2 weeks: You will be on a soft food diet during this period. Think soups, smoothies, mashed potato, scrambled eggs, yoghurt, and protein shakes. Most patients feel comfortable returning to light daily activities within 3 to 5 days, though you should avoid strenuous exercise for about 2 weeks.

Months 2 to 6 (osseointegration): The implants continue to fuse with your jawbone beneath the surface. After your permanent prosthesis is fitted: Your final teeth are designed for long-term durability. Risks and Considerations

Implant failure: In a small percentage of cases, one or more implants may not integrate successfully with the jawbone.
