There are many reasons women choose to have their breast implants removed. Your aesthetic preferences may have changed over time. You might be experiencing complications like capsular contracture. Perhaps you want a more natural look, or you simply no longer feel your implants suit your lifestyle.

Whatever your reason, the decision to remove your implants is personal and valid. Breast implant removal (explant surgery) is a straightforward procedure that is typically quicker and less invasive than the original augmentation.

Your all-inclusive package from £2,090 covers your procedure at a government-licensed hospital, 2 nights in hospital, 5 nights in a 5-star hotel, VIP airport transfers, a personal translator, and 12 months of aftercare. In the UK, explant surgery typically costs £4,000-£6,000.

What Is Breast implant removal surgery (without mastopexy)?

Breast implant removal is a procedure to take out your existing breast implants. Depending on your situation, the surgeon may also remove the capsule of scar tissue that naturally forms around any implant (a procedure called capsulectomy).

Your surgeon accesses the implants through a small incision, usually along the existing scar from your original augmentation. The implant is carefully extracted, and the pocket is assessed. If there are any concerns about the capsule (such as thickening or calcification), your surgeon may recommend removing it as well.

This package is for implant removal without a breast lift. After removal, your breasts will naturally lose some volume and may appear slightly deflated or saggy, depending on how long you had the implants and the elasticity of your skin. If this is a concern, you may want to consider combining removal with a breast lift, your patient coordinator can discuss this option with you.

Some women choose implant removal as a simple return to their natural shape, and many are very happy with the result, particularly if their original augmentation was modest in size.

Am I Suitable?

You may benefit from breast implant removal if you:

  • Want to return to your natural breast shape
  • Are experiencing complications such as capsular contracture, pain, or rupture
  • No longer feel your implants suit your body or lifestyle
  • Have concerns about the long-term presence of implants
  • Want to downsize without replacing with smaller implants
  • Are in good general health

If you are concerned about the appearance of your breasts after removal, discuss the option of combining removal with a lift or with fat transfer during your consultation.

What Happens During the Procedure?

Before your trip: Video consultation to discuss your reasons for removal, your current implant details, and expectations for your appearance after the procedure.

Day 1, Arrival: VIP airport transfer to your 5-star hotel.

Day 2, Procedure day: Your surgeon removes the implants (and capsule if needed) through a small incision, typically using your existing scar. The procedure takes approximately 1-1.5 hours under general anaesthesia.

Days 3-4, Hospital stay: Recovery in a private room. Your surgeon monitors your healing. A compression garment or supportive bra is fitted.

Days 5-7, Hotel recovery: Daily check-ins from your patient coordinator. You may feel more mobile than expected, recovery from removal is generally lighter than from augmentation.

Day 8, Departure: Final check-up and VIP airport transfer.

Months 1-12: Aftercare check-ins as your body adjusts to its natural shape.

Recovery & Aftercare

Recovery from implant removal is typically quicker and more comfortable than the original augmentation.

Days 1-3: Mild discomfort and some swelling. Pain medication is usually needed for the first few days only. Wear your supportive bra.

Week 1: Most swelling subsides quickly. Light activities and desk work are possible within a few days. Your breasts may look deflated initially, this is normal and they will settle.

Weeks 2-4: Most patients feel fully recovered. You can return to exercise gradually. Your natural breast shape begins to stabilise.

Months 1-6: Your breasts continue to adjust. Skin elasticity determines how much natural reshaping occurs. Younger patients with good skin tone often see better natural reshaping.

Risks & Considerations

Breast implant removal is a relatively low-risk procedure. Potential complications include infection, bleeding, scarring, asymmetry, and dissatisfaction with the post-removal appearance.

If a capsulectomy (removal of the scar tissue capsule) is performed, this adds a small amount of additional surgical complexity. Your surgeon will discuss whether capsulectomy is recommended in your case.

All procedures are performed in government-licensed, JCI-accredited hospitals with 12 months of aftercare support.

Frequently Asked Questions

This depends on your natural breast tissue, skin elasticity, how long you had implants, and the implant size. Some women have good natural volume remaining and are happy with their shape after removal. Others may notice some deflation or sagging. Your surgeon can give you realistic expectations during your consultation.

If you are concerned about sagging after removal, combining with a breast lift can reshape and elevate your natural tissue. This is a separate procedure with a different recovery profile and cost. Your patient coordinator can provide details on combined pricing.

Your surgeon will assess your capsule during the procedure and remove it if clinically indicated (for example, if it is thickened, calcified, or causing symptoms). Discuss capsulectomy expectations during your consultation.

If you decide you want new implants in the future, most surgeons recommend waiting at least 3-6 months for your tissues to heal and settle. However, if you are considering a size change rather than full removal, implant replacement may be a better option.

Your surgeon typically uses the same incision from your original augmentation, so no new scars are created. The existing scar may look more prominent temporarily as it heals again, but it will fade over time.
