Breast Augmentation in Turkey

Breast augmentation (sometimes called a "boob job") is a procedure that uses silicone implants to enhance the size and shape of your breasts. It can also improve symmetry if one breast is noticeably different from the other.

Your surgeon will help you choose the right implant based on several factors:

• Size, measured in cubic centimetres (cc), not cup sizes. Your surgeon will use sizers during your consultation so you can see and feel different volumes and choose what looks right on your frame.
• Shape, round implants provide fullness across the entire breast, while teardrop (anatomical) implants offer a more natural slope. Your surgeon will recommend the best shape for your body type and desired look.
• Profile, this determines how much the implant projects from your chest. Options range from moderate to high profile, depending on how prominent you want the result to be.
• Placement, implants can be placed either over the chest muscle (subglandular) or partially under it (dual-plane). Placement depends on your anatomy and the look you want.

The incision can be made in one of several locations:

• Under the breast fold (inframammary), the most common approach, offering the best access and control
• Around the lower edge of the areola (periareolar), a discreet option that heals well
• Through the armpit (transaxillary), less common but leaves no scar on the breast itself

Breast augmentation may be right for you if:

Before Your Procedure

Your journey begins with a free, no-obligation consultation, online, by phone, or at one of our UK consultation days. Your patient coordinator will discuss your goals, answer your questions, and help you think about size and shape preferences.

Once you decide to proceed, you will receive a detailed treatment plan with pre-procedure instructions. These include avoiding blood-thinning medications, stopping smoking, and purchasing a supportive post-procedure bra if recommended.

During Your Stay in Turkey

Your VIP transfer will meet you at the airport and take you to your 5-star hotel. The next day, you attend the hospital for pre-procedure assessments, blood tests, measurements, photographs, and a face-to-face consultation with your surgeon.

This is a crucial appointment. Your surgeon will take detailed measurements of your chest, discuss implant options (size, shape, profile, placement), and may use sizers so you can visualise different volumes. You will agree on the final plan together.

The procedure is performed under general anaesthesia and typically takes 1-2 hours. You will stay in the hospital for 1 night with attentive nursing care. Your personal translator will be with you throughout.

After Your Procedure

You will wake up wearing a surgical support bra, which you will continue to wear for several weeks to support your healing. Some patients have drains, which are typically removed the next morning.

Before you fly home, your surgeon will see you for a follow-up appointment to check your healing and confirm your aftercare plan. You will receive detailed instructions on bra wearing, sleeping position, and activity restrictions.

Recovery from breast augmentation is generally straightforward, and most patients are surprised by how quickly they feel better.

Days 1-3: Your breasts will feel tight, swollen, and tender. Some patients describe a feeling of pressure on the chest. Pain is well-managed with prescribed medication. Sleep on your back with your upper body slightly elevated. The surgical bra should be worn at all times.

Days 3-7: Significant improvement day by day. Many patients feel comfortable enough to manage with over-the-counter pain relief by this point. Light activities around the home are fine, but avoid lifting anything heavier than a kettle.

Week 1-2: Most patients return to desk-based work within 7-10 days. Your breasts will still be swollen and may sit higher than their final position, this is completely normal. They will gradually "drop and fluff" into their natural shape over the coming weeks.

Week 2-4: Gradual return to most normal activities. You can start gentle lower-body exercise (walking, stationary cycling) but avoid upper-body workouts, heavy lifting, and high-impact exercise for at least 4-6 weeks.

Month 1-3: Your implants begin to settle into their final position. The "drop and fluff" process continues, the implants move down slightly and the tissue softens around them, creating a more natural shape.

Month 3-6: Your final result becomes apparent. Swelling has fully resolved and your implants have settled. Scars continue to fade and will become less visible over 12-18 months.

Your 12 months of included aftercare means regular check-ins with your patient coordinator and access to your medical team throughout your recovery.

Breast augmentation is one of the most well-studied cosmetic procedures in the world, with a strong safety record. As with any procedure under general anaesthesia, there are considerations to understand.

Common effects (expected and temporary):

• Swelling and tenderness, peaks in the first week and gradually resolves
• Tightness and pressure, as the tissue stretches to accommodate the implant
• Temporary changes in nipple sensation, increased or decreased sensitivity, which usually normalises within a few months
• Scarring, incision scars are placed discreetly and fade significantly over 12-18 months

Less common considerations:

• Capsular contracture, the body forms a natural capsule around any implant. In some cases, this capsule can tighten and cause firmness. Modern implant technology and surgical techniques have significantly reduced this occurrence
• Implant malposition, the implant can occasionally shift. This is monitored during your aftercare and can be corrected if needed
• Infection, rare, minimised through sterile conditions and antibiotics
• Rippling, visible wrinkling of the implant, more common with saline implants or in patients with very little natural breast tissue. Your surgeon will recommend the best implant type to minimise this
