Aftercare Policy

Your journey does not end when you leave Turkey

One of the biggest concerns people have about treatment abroad is: "What happens when I get home?" It is a fair question, and it is one we have built our entire aftercare programme around answering.

At The Health Store Turkey, aftercare is not an add-on. It is a core part of your treatment package, included from day one. From the moment you return home, you will have a dedicated team supporting your recovery for a full 12 months.

What your aftercare includes

Every patient receives the following as part of their all-inclusive package:

  • A dedicated patient coordinator who knows your case and is your single point of contact throughout recovery
  • Scheduled check-ins at every stage of your recovery (see the timeline below)
  • Direct access to your surgical team in Turkey for clinical questions
  • Access to our UK aftercare clinics for in-person support with NHS-registered wound care specialists
  • Face-to-face wound care, dressings, wound checks, and healing assessments with qualified, NHS-registered professionals
  • Nutritional and lifestyle guidance tailored to your procedure
  • 24/7 emergency contact for urgent concerns at any time, day or night

Your 12-month aftercare timeline

We do not just check in once and disappear. Your aftercare follows a structured programme designed around the stages of your recovery:

Weeks 1-2: Daily check-ins

The first two weeks after your procedure are the most important for your recovery. During this period, your patient coordinator will check in with you every day to:

  • Monitor your healing and recovery
  • Answer any questions or concerns
  • Review any photos you share of your progress
  • Ensure you are following your post-procedure instructions
  • Arrange a visit to one of our UK aftercare clinics if needed

Months 1-3: Weekly check-ins

As your recovery progresses, we move to weekly check-ins. During this phase, your coordinator will:

  • Track your progress against expected recovery milestones
  • Adjust your dietary or activity guidance as needed
  • Address any concerns about scarring, swelling, or discomfort
  • Connect you with your surgical team if any clinical questions arise

Months 3-12: Monthly check-ins

From month three onwards, we schedule monthly check-ins to:

  • Review your longer-term progress and results
  • Provide ongoing nutritional and lifestyle support (particularly for weight loss patients)
  • Discuss any follow-up needs
  • Celebrate your progress, we love hearing how our patients are getting on

Our UK aftercare clinics

We operate two dedicated aftercare clinics in the UK, staffed by NHS-registered wound care specialists. These are qualified professionals who provide face-to-face wound care, dressing changes, healing assessments, and recovery support.

Your patient coordinator will arrange clinic appointments as part of your aftercare plan. Contact them at any time to book a visit.

UK-based team, always available

You do not need to be near one of our clinics to get support. Our UK-based team is available 24/7, by phone, WhatsApp, or email. You can send photos of your recovery, ask questions, or request a case review at any time. Whether it is the middle of the night or a bank holiday, someone is always available to help.

This means you get the benefit of local, professional care without needing to travel back to Turkey for routine healing support.

Revision policy

In rare cases, a patient may require a revision or corrective procedure. If this is clinically necessary and related to your original treatment, here is how it works:

  • Within the first 12 months: If your surgical team determines that a revision is clinically required, we will arrange this for you. The costs covered will depend on your mandatory complication insurance and the specific circumstances, your patient coordinator will explain everything clearly before any decisions are made.
  • After 12 months: Revisions may still be arranged through The Health Store Turkey at a preferential rate. We remain available to support you beyond your initial aftercare period.
  • Cosmetic preferences vs. clinical need: There is an important distinction between a revision that is clinically necessary and one that reflects a change in personal preference. Your surgical team will assess your case honestly and explain what is and is not covered.

In all cases, we will be transparent about costs and options. There are no hidden fees and no pressure.

What we ask of you

Aftercare is a partnership. To get the best results from your treatment, we ask that you:

  • Attend all scheduled check-ins, even if you feel fine, these help us catch any issues early
  • Follow your post-procedure instructions carefully, including dietary guidelines, activity restrictions, and medication schedules
  • Share photos of your progress when requested, this helps our surgical team monitor your healing remotely
  • Contact us promptly if anything feels wrong or unexpected
  • Be patient, healing takes time, and results often continue to improve for months after your procedure

Beyond 12 months

Your aftercare package covers 12 months, but our relationship with you does not end there. Many of our 10,000+ patients stay in touch long after their treatment, and we are always here if you need advice, support, or are considering additional treatment in the future.
