FAQ

Can I have someone come with me? Will I need to pay extra?

Advice and information on bringing someone with you.

At The Health Store Turkey we encourage all of our patients to bring a travel companion. Your private room at both the hospital and the hotel will have two single beds so your companion can stay with you all throughout your stay.

There is no extra cost and your companion is also provided 3 free meals per day at the hospital and breakfast at the hotel. All they have to pay for is their flights!

Can I just take hand luggage?

Luggage required and Airline charges

Most people only take hand luggage but this obviously depends on how long you are staying for. Most of the airlines we use charge extra for stowed luggage so make sure you check when you are booking your flight. We recommend only hand luggage so you don’t have too much hanging around at the airport on your way home.

What do the hospital supply in the room?

Your hospital room.. Whats included?

All of our comfortable rooms have free wifi and TV installed. Towels and toiletries are also supplied and we can supply you a hairdryer to use if you need one or forgot to pack yours!

Is it ok taking my medication with the medication after the surgery?

Post operative medication…

All the medication given in your prescription is enough for the treatment of the surgery. We also advise you to use anti-scarring gels of your choice for 6 months after your prescribed medication. Please provide us with the list of the usual medication you take daily during your consultation, for us to check and confirm if it is ok to take them at the same time.

Constipated? Should things go back to normal after medications finished?

Constipation…

Your surgery has no connection to your bowls; you can take what you would normally take when you have constipation. We also recommend you walk for 20 minutes a day and take 3 litres of water a day.

What is the tingling sensation when you touch your liposuction areas?

Liposuction and Tingling sensation…

This is due to minor liquid accumulation under the skin is normal after this type of surgery.

When will I need to have my bloods tested?

If you’ve had weight loss surgery with us, you will need to have your bloods tested regularly for 12 months after your treatment.

An important part of our aftercare is the evaluation of your bloods. We do this at 1 month, 3 month, 6 month and 12 month intervals.

When due you will receive and email and an SMS requesting you to arrange an appointment with your local GP to have a test done for the following.

There’s a form available online here where you can upload the results. Once received we’ll forward them to your doctor and come right back to you with the surgeons comments.
